Sunka Simon's research focuses on the intersections of gender, race, and place in postwar German popular culture. She is the author of the bookMail-Orders: The Fiction of Letters in Postmodern Culture（2002) and eighteen scholarly articles on German literature, film and popular German culture. She is currently working on a manuscript entitledEuro-Eyes: Regionalism and Globalization in German TV Formats.
