Update on COVID-19 Testing, Vaccination Rates

Dear Colleagues,

我们希望你回到面对面的指导和the previously established work plans are going well. We write with a few brief updates and reminders.

As of Wednesday, more than 99% of faculty and staff members who are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster shot have done so. And 94% of eligible students have received a COVID-19 booster shot. Thank you to all of you for working quickly to verify your COVID-19 vaccination status.

Rapid test kits and alternatives to using smart devices:
We also appreciate the feedback we’ve received on the change to the rapid tests, and so far the transition seems to be going well. That said, we know that there are individuals who don’t have access to or would prefer not to use a smart device for testing purposes.

当我们prefer you continue to use theBD Veritor rapid antigen test kitsif possible, if you do not have a compatible device and have not received additional information from your supervisor on how to perform a rapid antigen test, or if you prefer to take a test that doesn't involve using a smart device, please contactcett@swarthmore.edufor instructions.

Whenever possible, please take your rapid tests before coming to work. You may pick up two test kits at a time, which is enough for two weeks of testing.

Reporting test results:
For those of you taking theBD Veritor rapid antigen testsusing the Scanwell app, once you’ve received your result, please select Share Result. You will be prompted to enter an Organization ID and an Individual ID.

  • For Organization ID, please enter Swarthmore.
  • For Individual ID, please use your Swarthmore employee ID number. You can locate the number on the back of your OneCard; it’s the number located next to ID. Your employee ID is also listed on the detailed view of your pay stub in MySwarthmore, next to Banner ID.
  • After entering the information, select Share Result to submit your results to the College.

As a reminder, please share your BD Veritor rapid result regardless of whether it’s positive or negative.

For the alternative test kits, please report tocett@swarthmore.eduonly if you test positive for COVID-19.

Faculty and staff members who test positive will be exempt from the College’s weekly COVID-19 surveillance testing requirement for 90 days from the date of the positive test. However, these employees WILL be required to test within that 90-day period if they develop COVID-19 symptoms or are considered a close contact of another positive case.

请参考Faculty and Staff COVID-19 Testing Information pagefor more information on testing. Questions about testing can be directed to the College’s COVID-19 Employee Test Team atcett@swarthmore.eduor tocovid19@swarthmore.edu.

Thank you for your continued efforts to help limit the spread of COVID-19 on campus.

Sincerely,

Members of the COVID-19 Planning Group
